Causes

The time of thinking is gone. Now this is the time for ACTION

Cutting down forests

Cutting down forests for land causes emission as when trees are cut, they release carbon they have been storing.

Each year approx. 12 million hectares of forest are destroyed.

Also, Forests absorb CO2 destroying them, limits nature’s ability to balance emission in atmosphere.

Deforestation together with agriculture is responsible for roughly a quarter of global greenhouse gas emission.

Manufacturing goods

Industry produces emissions, mostly from burning fossil fuels to produce energy for making goods.

Mining and other industrial processes also release gases, as does the construction industry.

Manufacturing machines sometimes runs on coal, oil, or gas.

And some materials like plastics are made from chemicals sourced from fossil fuels.

Using Transportation

Most cars, truck, ships & planes run on fossil fuels.

Road vehicles account for largest part in CO2 emissions due to combustion of petroleum products.

But emission from ships & planes continue to grow with time.

Transport accounts for nearly one quarter of global CO2 emissions.

Consuming too much

A large chunk of global greenhouse gas emissions is linked to private households.

The consumption of goods such as clothing, electronics & plastics contributes in greenhouse gas emissions.

Our lifestyles and dependence on power consuming electronics have a profound impact on our planet.

Growing demand of electronics like ACs & refrigerators has contributed in greenhouse emissions of CFC.
